Lamprotornis superbus representation bisulfite sequencing for common garden experiment

Sequencing performed as part of a study where we examined glucocorticoid hormones and DNA Methylation in cooperatively breeding superb starlings (Lamprotornis superbus). Birds taken from three sites in Kenya on an environmental gradient were kept in outdoor savanna aviaries for six months. Baseline and stress-induced corticosterone were measured with ELISA assays at the time of capture and after three and six months. Reduced representation bisulfite sequencing (RRBS) libraries were prepared for extractions at the time of capture and after three and six months. We examined patterns in baseline CORT levels and DNA methylation, to explore mechanisms of physiological and molecular plasticity.
