Images from Archaeological Works off Lodge Lane, Thorpe Hesley, Rotherham, 2020-2022

This digital archive contains images from archaeological works off Lodge Lane, Thorpe Hesley, Rotherham. The first phase of work was undertaken by archaeological research services between 27th January 2020 and 7th February 2020. The second was undertaken between 1st March 2020 and 31st May 2022. The evaluation works were undertaken to discharge a planning condition prior to the construction of 52 residential dwellings with associated gardens, garages, roads, sewers and all other enabling works. The site lies within an area of interest related to medieval and post-medieval mining activity for coal and ironstone.
