Study on the regulation of appressorium of setosphaeria turcica under replication stress. Setosphaeria turcica is one of the most destructive northern corn leaf blight pathogen. To infecte maize, the pathogenic fungi develop specialized infection structures called appressorium. Previously, we demonstrated that the NCLB pathogen S. turcica regulates maize infection and triggers a self-protective response to DNA genotoxic insults. And the process is also regulated by the S-phase checkpoint of the cell cycle. However, how the regulatory mechanism works is still largely unknown. Therefore, we ask a question, how are the appressorium resist when the pressure of DNA damage replication exists? In order to clearly clarify the regulatory mechanism, the transcriptomic strategy was employed to unravel the mechanism under the DNA genotoxic stresses via the comparative profiles of RNA-seq between Control and HU.
