资源简介:
This document contains Supplementary Information (Section B) for manuscript the NATCITIES-24060685, in which the methodology for the statistical analysis, orthogonal contrasting, is explained.Three types of tabs are provided.

In the "results" tab, information regarding the degrees of freedom, F-value, t-ratio and p-value are available for the ANOVA and the contrasts.
In the "key" tab, the categorical explanatory variables used in the analysis are named the first couple of columns. In the following columns a number inside a row dictates that those explanatory variables are being compared. In the top row these comparisons are given an individual name for later interpretation.
The "contrasts" tab, looks similar to the key tab, but without the categorical explanatory variables named in the first columns. This is the exact tab used in conducting the analysis.
Abbreviations:Soil materialM - Munich soilA - Augsburg soilTreatmentsdisp - dispersed particle size distribution of subsoil (used only in mean weight diameter contrast)
excav - excavated subsoil prior to incubation (used only in mean weight diameter contrast)sub - subsoil onlygwc - 4% green waste compost substrate mixturegac - 2% granulated activated carbon + 2% green waste compost substrate mixturegb1 - 2% WW|850+ 2% green waste compost substrate mixturegb2 - 2% GW|680+ 2% green waste compost substrate mixturegb3 - 2% WW|540+ 2% green waste compost substrate mixtureg12 - 1% WW|850 + 1% GW|680+ 2% green waste compost substrate mixtureg13 - 1% WW|850 + 1% WW|540+ 2% green waste compost substrate mixtureg23 -1% GW|680 + 1% WW|540 + 2% green waste compost substrate mixture

In this study, we evaluate two wood-waste (WW) biochars (high and low temperature; WW|850 and WW|540) and one green-waste (GW) biochar (GW|680) in our constructed soil mixtures for soil ecosystem functions, comparing the various combinations with a manufactured pollutant-adsorption benchmark, granulated activated carbon (GAC) and a low-cost option of utilizing only municipal green waste compost.
