The goal is to assess the authenticity and potential mislabeling of salmon products in the Selangor seafood market. Salmon has become the most popular and in-demand among the populations of Malaysia. It has been sold in various Western-style restaurants, sushi restaurants, and local supermarkets. However, there have been several issues often associated with salmon, including substitutions and mislabeling, which have raised suspicions among consumers. Thus, this study will improve consumer safety, support regulatory enforcement against food fraud, and promote transparency in the seafood industry.
