资源简介:
The data used in the study "Climate change threatens crop pollination in the Neotropics: the carpenter bee Xylocopa frontalis avoids pollinating passion fruit flowers as temperatures rise" are publicy avaible. This dataset documents the interactions of the bee Xylocopa frontalis with flowers of Passiflora edulis and Passiflora cincinnata, as well as the impacts on the fruiting of these plants.
The "Visits" sheet includes detailed records of:
bee visits, providing information on the season, date, time, plant species visited, bee sex, visit duration, and morphological measurements (head, thorax, and abdomen), along with environmental data such as ambient and shaded temperatures.
The "Fruit" sheet presents pollination outcomes, including:
fruit weight, seed count, and pulp weight, under different pollination conditions, such as open pollination (OPEN).
These data can be used to analyze the role of Xylocopa frontalis in pollination and its direct influence on the fruit production of Passiflora edulis and Passiflora cincinnata. The data are are currently under review for acceptance in the repository and will be accessible with the provisional DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.14837904.
