The returns are both manuscript fair copies, and printed sheets pasted into the volume. They seem to have been prepared between 1852 and 1858, but some of them give statistics for years back to 1838. They cover many topics, the more important being: The cost and results of the immigration scheme in terms of numbers and ages of those landed, and whether they were assisted or not. The numbers and ages of migrants sent to various country districts, and the expenditure involved. (4/4691). 1 vol.
