Letters received from various individuals requesting Government employment in various capacities and setting out their qualifications etc. The papers are arranged in alphabetical order by the applicant's name and numbered consecutively. A list at the front of the bundle which accompanied the letters deposited with the Colonial Secretary, showing name and nature of employment sought, also acts as an index. They were deposited in the Colonial Secretary's Office in January 1887 after the Jennings' Ministry left office. (4/876.2). 1 box (part).
