Danish Welfare Survey, 1976

The survey aims at giving an adequate description of the living conditions of the Danish population in order to illuminate a number of crucial politico-social questions. To this end it was attempted to collect data on as many essential areas of life (welfare components) as possible so as to be able to analyse the distribution of the individual welfare components on different population groups. Thus, the survey includes questions on health, education, social relations, leisure, political participation, housing conditions, local environment, employment, working conditions, and financial conditions. #The main emphasis is on objective measurements understood as 'measurements of the degree of presence or absence of benefits, activities and relations which are desirable or undesirable according to the norms of society or according to the norms of certain population groups (depending on the aspect under investigation)'
