Diminished trophoblast differentiation in early onset preeclampsia

Comparison of genes associated with the EMT between undifferentiated cytotrophoblast cells (CTB) and differentiated extravillous trophoblast cells (EVT) from third trimester human placenta. Cells isolated from control (placenta previa) and cases (preeclampsia). Cells isolated by immunomagnetic separation using anti-integrin beta4 antibody to purify CTB and anti-HLA-G antibody to purify EVT. RNA extracted from CTB and EVT from cases and controls, reverse transcribed and analysed on a PCR Array containing probes for 84 genes associated with the EMT (Qiagen RT2 Profiler PCR Array Cat# PAHS-090Z). Relative gene expression compared between CTB and EVT.
