Exposure to biologically active substances during embryonic development might affect a wide variety of mechanisms involved in the construction of the individual, and have consequences on the animal's health and welfare throughout its lifetime. Such effects can be mediated by epigenetic mechanisms, including DNA methylation patterns. The objective of this study is to characterise the DNA methylation response of the organism to variations in its embryonic environment.
