Mice were put on either a control or low isoleucine diet and their liver transcriptomic expression was measured in both the fasting and fed state. This was to discover the impact of reducing a single branched chain amino acid on the metabolism of the liver. Overall design: To compare the metabolic effect of a Low Ile diet, 10-week-old male mice were placed on either a Control AA or a Low Ile diet for 3 weeks. All mice were maintained at a temperature of approximately 22°C. Mice were euthanized by cervical dislocation and livers were harvested and snap frozen in liquid nitrogen following overnight (16-hr) fasting or refeeding.
