High-temporal resolution current measurements from a bottom-mounted upward looking Nortek Signature55 ADCP, northern Gulf of Mexico, April 2015

High temporal resolution currents were measured in the northern Gulf of Mexico 10-12 April 2015 from a bottom-mounted upward looking Nortek Signature55 ADCP. This ADCP can operate concurrently as a 75KHz broadband and 55KHz narrow band ADCP. Three components of currents were in broadband mode at 1-second intervals with 5 meter vertical resolution and in narrowband mode at 6 second intervals with 16 meter vertical resolution. The broadband coverage ranged from the seabed to 500m above the seabed. The narrowband coverage ranged from the seabed to 1000m above the seabed. The nominal depth of the seabed at the mooring location was 1289m. The instrument was deployed in lease block GC600 during GISR cruise G08 from the E/V Nautilus on 10-April-2015 and recovered by the R/V Pelican on GISR Cruise G09 on 12-April-2015.
