Photograph of two bridges over the Feather River in Butte County, ca.1920. A steel trestle bridge for automotive traffic spans the river above a truss bridge spanned by railroad track. The feather river is below both bridges and is moving fast enough in some areas to create whitewater. The steep hills on both sides of the river are covered in trees except in the foreground at left, where the dense rocks limit the plant life.
