The rover and sitter Drosophila melanogaster lines are fly lines derived from nature. These lines have been used extensively in behavioural studies, as they exhibit a stable behavioural polymorphism directly linked to naturally occurring functional alleles of one gene (foraging). The genomes of these lines have never been sequenced before.
