GIS Dataset for Hotels with beach access in Morocco (Mediterranean), Tunisia and Egypt

This new version contains a correction of the license file. This dataset is under embargo until the associated publication is released. This dataset contains point shapefiles for hotels with beaches in Morocco, Tunisia, and Egypt. A raw dataset on accommodation was sourced from Humanitarian Data Exchange (2025a, b, c) to extract hotels at a buffer zone of 300 m from the coastline. Each site was validated via Google Maps to add missing entries and exclude those lacking direct beach access. Eco-labelled beaches and hotels were identified through local tourism authorities and ecolabel websites. Each country’s dataset is projected using the most appropriate UTM zone for its geographical location. For more information, please refer to the README file.
