VPRS 902 Registers of Local Committees

This series was used to provide a record of the following of procedures for the appointment of members of Local Committees for Common Schools. Details given are the number and name of the school, whether the appointment was for a new committee or as an alteration to a current one, the correspondence reference number, the dates of submission to the Board of Education and its decision regarding the matter (see VPRS 899 Agenda Books and VPRS 894 Minute Books), the details of dates of submission to the Chief Secretary, for publication in the Government Gazette and local newspapers and of notification to the committee member with any remarks.An alphabetical list by place name at the front of unit 1 gives a listing of school names, the name of the newspaper in which local notices were published and dates when advertisements were sent.
