A dataset of amino acids, minerals, and vitamins content in Galla-derived honey from Guizhou Province

The content of active substances like amino acids in honey is an important factor in evaluating its quality, with the levels of these active substances varying according to plant source and altitude. Guizhou Province is a typical region characterized by Karst topography development, where the main autumn honey produced is Galla-derived honey. This study randomly selected honey from farming bases from 10 regions (Longli, Dushan, Taijiang, Duyun, Xifeng, Fenggang, Bijiang, Majiang, Zhen'an, and Kaiyang), where gallnuts are predominantly distributed in Guizhou Province. These honey samples were collected from September to October 2023. We measured the content of 16 free and hydrolyzed amino acids (aspartic acid, threonine, serine, glutamic acid, glycine, alanine, valine, methionine, isoleucine, leucine, tyrosine, phenylalanine, lysine, histidine, arginine, proline), mineral content (calcium, iron, magnesium, zinc, copper, potassium, sodium, manganese, phosphorus, selenium), and vitamin content (vitamin A, carotene, vitamin B1, vitamin B2, vitamin B6, vitamin B12, pantothenic acid, niacin, folic acid, vitamin C, vitamin D3, vitamin E, biotin, vitamin K) of the honey samples. To ensure the reliability of the results, each sample was tested in triplicate, and testing was strictly conducted according to relevant national standard methods and quality control procedures. The test results have been uploaded to a public database in .xlsx format. This dataset can provide data support for the analysis and evaluation of the content and changes of active substances in gallnut multifloral honey from Guizhou Province.
