Complete Genome Sequence of Hyperthermophilic Palaeococcus pacificus DY20341T, Isolated from a Deep-Sea Hydrothermal Sediments. Palaeococcus pacificus strain DY20341 was isolated from a sediments sample collected from a hydrothermal vent area in East Pacific Ocean at a depth of 2,737 m in 2008(REF). Palaeococcus pacificus is a piezophilic，hyperthermolphilic，sulfur-reducing heterotrophic archaeon belonging to the order Thermococcales (encompassing the genera Thermococcus, Pyrococcus, and Palaeococcus) and is a hyperthermophile growing at temperatures ranging from 50C to 90°C (optimaly at 80°C) and a piezophile growing optimally under 30 MPa. Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences showed that it was most closely related to Pa. ferrophilus, with a similarity of 95.7%.
