Neurospora crassa OR74A Genome sequencing

Note: Project 40071 is part of Project 13841. It was created to reference SRA data specifically for an ALLPATHS2 publication. Users should reference 13841 as it is synonymous with 40071. The Broad Institute is sequencing the Neurospora crassa strain OR74A genome at low coverage using whole genome shotgun (WGS) sequencing. To test methods for assembly of very short reads, five microbial genomes were selected that had a finished reference sequence available. At least two libraries (short fragment and jumping) were generated and sequenced using Illumina. The Neurospora crassa strain OR74A is one of these five microbial genomes.
