Thirty-five seals were affixed with radio tags during fall/winter
expeditions to the Antarctic in 2001 and 2002. The seal's movements
were tracked via Argos Service satellites for up to 4 months after
release. The seal capture/release area consisted of: the continental
shelf to the west of the Antarctic Peninsula extending from the
northern tip of Adelaide Island to the southern portion of Alexander
Island, Crystal Sound, and Marguerite Bay.
