Mediasphere For Nature - The multimedia application lab at the Natural History Museum Berlin

In order to make the over 30 million physical and digital collection objects of the MfN accessible and usable for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the media and creative industries, a media application lab was set up within the framework of the third-party funded project "Naturkunde 365/24 - Multimediales Applikationslabor des Berliner Naturkundemuseums" (Natural History 365/24 - Multimedia Application Laboratory of the Berlin Museum of Natural History), the "Mediasphere For Nature", which conveys a professional, efficient, exemplary and target group-oriented range of digital media and knowledge transfer services for diverse user groups. Since 2020, the Mediasphere For Nature has been integrated into the MfN infrastructure as part of the Zukunftsplan (future plan). The final brochure looks back on more than 3 years of collaboration with SMEs from Berlin and Brandenburg's cultural, creative and educational sectors. Success stories of co-creation processes with cooperation partners, the development of an innovation network, different event formats, the function of data sets with differentiated narratives, selected contextualized media packages, the resulting research portal as well as the ProductTestLab are described in detail.
