Toraja Traditional Carvings Image Dataset

This dataset contains 968 images of traditional Toraja carving motifs collected from Tongkonan houses and other traditional buildings in Toraja, Indonesia. The images were captured using a digital camera under varying distances, lighting conditions, and viewing angles to reflect real-world challenges in visual recognition. The dataset includes seven carving motif classes (PAQDON_BOLU, PAQKAPU_BAKA, PAQLOLO_TABANG, PAQMANUK_LONDONG, PAQTANDUK_REQPE, PAQTANGKIQ_PATTUNG, and PAQTEDONG) and is divided into training, validation, and test subsets. The annotations for this dataset are provided in COCO (Common Objects in Context) format, which includes bounding box coordinates, category labels for each carving motif, and standardized metadata commonly used in object detection research. This dataset is intended for use in computer vision research, including image classification, object detection, pattern recognition, and cultural heritage preservation.
