The microorganisms inhabiting the below-ground habitats, such as soil, play important roles in plant growth. However, the microbial community structure and their response to climate changes are poorly understood. The objective was to survey the composition of microbial communities from soil and clarify the response to elevated CO2 and/or soil temperature. By using 454 pyrosequencing, the 16S rRNA gene of bacterial communities was analyzed in China- and Japan-FACE paddy fields.
