Artificial intelligence-generated patient safety checklists for musculoskeletal injections

Musculoskeletal disorders significantly impact global health, necessitating effective management strategies.  Musculoskeletal injections are critical for managing pain, inflammation, and mobility in these conditions. As their adoption by physicians is increasing, the need for safety protocols intensifies. 

This study will evaluate the capability of conversational artificial intelligence (AI) platforms, specifically ChatGPT-3.5 and ChatGPT-4, to generate patient safety checklists for specific musculoskeletal injections. It aims to assess the efficiency of AI in enhancing safety procedures. 

A quantitative analysis will be conducted as the AI-generated checklists were scored according to a preformed checklist derived from reputable medical sources. The adherence of the generated checklists to the preformed checklist will be calculated and scored. Additionally Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test will be used to assess the differences between the versions of ChatGPT.
