Survey on Population Knowledge and Attitudes of School Children in China, 1988

<p>This study was a joint project of the Population Development Program at Cornell University and the Population Information and Research Center in China as part of a series of joint projects in Peru, Colombia, and China by the Population Development Program. Using questionnaire data from a sample survey of 5,343 secondary school students in grades 7-12 in Sichuan Province, the People's Republic of China, this study attempted to identify factors related to adolescent family formation knowledge and attitudes including ideal age at marriage, desired family size, attitudes toward population growth and demographic and contraceptive knowledge. A model of family formation knowledge and attitudes was developed and evaluated.</p>
