The SCNU Mandarin/Cantonese Dataset comprises Mandarin and Cantonese renditions of three narratives: "Du Jiang Yan" (Dujiangyan), "Liang Shan Bo Yu Zhu Ying Tai" (Butterfly Lovers), and "Shen Bi Ma Liang" (MaLiang and His Magical Writing Brush). It encompasses narrative fMRI data, where 27 Mandarin-Cantonese bilingual adults listened to both Mandarin and Cantonese renditions of these three narratives.

- The Cantonese version of the story "Liang Shan Bo Yu Zhu Ying Tai (Butterfly Lovers)", abbreviated as "lsby," has a stimulating audio duration of 11:05.
- The Mandarin version of the story "Shen Bi Ma Liang (MaLiang and His Magical Writing Brush)", abbreviated as "mlg," has a stimulating audio duration of 07:38.
- The Cantonese version of the story "Shen Bi Ma Liang (MaLiang and His Magical Writing Brush)", abbreviated as "mly," has a stimulating audio duration of 07:11.
Each participant undergoes a 6-second (4 TRs) silent scan at the beginning and the end of the stimulating audio. Therefore, we recommend removing the first and last 4 TRs of data.
## Participants
All participants were recruited from undergraduate and graduate students at South China Normal University. The total number of participants was 27, comprising 10 males and 17 females, with ages ranging from 20 to 26 years old. They were all native to Guangdong Province and have been bilingual in Cantonese and Mandarin since childhood. The proficiency of all participants in Cantonese was assessed by two experienced language instructors to ensure fluent communication. Before entering the MRI scanner, participants were equipped with headphones and tested to ensure clear auditory perception of stimulus sounds. Following the MRI scan, all participants completed a follow-up questionnaire to confirm their attentive listening and comprehension of the stories.
## MRI imaging
MRI data were collected using a Siemens 3-Tesla Prisma Fit scanner equipped with a 20-channel head coil (Siemens, Erlangen, Germany) at the Brain Imaging Center of South China Normal University. To minimize head motion, participants were instructed to fixate on the central crosshair displayed on the screen throughout the scanning procedure.
T1-weighted anatomical images were acquired using a 3D Magnetization Prepared Rapid Gradient Echo (MPRAGE) sequence [repetition time (TR) = 1900 ms; echo time (TE) = 2.27 ms; inversion time (TI) = 1100 ms; bandwidth = 190 Hz/Px; flip angle = 7°; field of view (FOV) = 256 mm; matrix size = 256 × 256 × 208; voxel size = 1 × 1 × 1 mm3 in-plane acceleration factor (iPAT) = 2]. Functional MRI data were obtained with an echo-planar imaging (EPI) pulse sequence [TR = 1500 ms; TE = 30 ms; flip angle = 90°; FOV = 192 mm; voxel size = 3 × 3 × 3 mm3; 43 slices; bandwidth = 2520 Hz/Px; in-plane acceleration factor (iPAT) = 2].
## Preprocessing
The DICOM files were coverted into BIDS format. No further preprocessing step were perofmed.

所有受试者在刺激音频的起始与结束阶段均会进行6秒(4个重复时间TR)的静默扫描。因此,建议在处理数据时移除前4个TR与后4个TR的成像数据。
## 受试者信息
所有受试者均招募自华南师范大学的本科生与研究生。本次研究共纳入27名受试者,其中男性10名、女性17名,年龄介于20至26岁之间。所有受试者均为广东省本地人,自幼掌握普通话与粤语双语能力。两名资深语言教师对受试者的粤语熟练程度进行评估,以确保其粤语沟通流畅。在进入磁共振成像扫描仪前,为受试者佩戴耳机并进行听觉测试,以确认其可清晰感知刺激音频。磁共振扫描结束后,所有受试者均填写了后续问卷,以确认其在聆听故事时注意力集中且理解内容。
## 磁共振成像采集
磁共振成像数据采集于华南师范大学脑成像中心,使用配置20通道头部线圈的Siemens 3-Tesla Prisma Fit扫描仪(Siemens,德国埃尔朗根)完成。为减少头部运动,受试者在整个扫描过程中需始终注视屏幕中央的十字准星。
### T1加权解剖成像

## 数据预处理
