Roll call votes in the German Reichstag, 1867-1918

This dataset consists of more than 340,000 individual vote choices for the full universe of 901 roll call votes taken in the 15 legislative terms of the Reichstag of the North German Confederation (1867-1870) and the German Empire (1871-1918). The information about legislators’ vote choices is complemented by meta information about the roll calls, including the subject of the proposal or amendment, the date of the vote, the type of act, the stage of the legislative procedure, and the policy topic coded according to the Comparative Agendas Project coding scheme.
