The DEMUpdateBoundary layer contains areas that mark the extent of elevation updates to the Sarasota County 2007 Digital Elevation Model (DEM). Only certain areas of the 2007 DEM were updated to accommodate changes to flood models for the FEMA map modernization effort. In years 2014 - 2016, elevation values within certain watersheds that experienced significant development were updated by removing the existing lidar points and replaced with in-field measurements.
