Precipitation amount is measured using an ARG100 tipping bucket rain gauge (Campbell® Scientific Instruments) with a resolution of 0.20 mm of rain per tip. The rain gauge is located on the flat roof of the highest building of the campus of the Institut des Régions Arides (IRA) de Medenine (i.e., about 12.5 m above the ground level). Accumulation of rain on last 5 min in millimeters (mm) is recorded using a CR200X datalogger (Campbell® Scientific Instruments), but only accumulation of rain on last 1 hour is distributed in UTC (the number of values used to compute the sum is given for each time step).
