Genetic factors influencing a neurobiological substrate for psychiatric disorders

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)-based brain morphometry suggested the existence of a common neurobiological substrate CS (hereafter abbreviated as CCS "Component of the Common Substrate") for psychiatric disorders in the dorsal anterior cingulate (dACC) and the left and right anterior insular cortices (AIC). Here, we analyzed the first principal component of voxel-based morphometric (VBM) volumes forming the CCS. We conducted genome-wide association studies (GWAS) of the CCS in discovery and replication cohorts followed by meta-analysis, totaling n=3,136 individuals and 6.578.106 single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs). The presented data reflect the summary statistics of this meta-analysis.
