Vema Cruise 7 Paleomagnetic Data Scanned PDFs

Paleomagnetic data generated at the Lamont-Doherty Paleomagnetics Lab for Vema Cruise 7.  These data are scanned PDF documents that were archived in binders on the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory of Columbia University campus. They are part of a wealth of data collected and archived on deep sea sediment cores by Lamont-Doherty Paleomagnetics Lab Directors Neil Opdyke and Dennis Kent (and their many students).  Some of these data have been previously published and we request you cite the original publications whenever possible.

Data* columns are:

(1) Sample identifier.  Generally: ship code (V = Vema; C = Conrad), cruise, core, depth interval

(2) Demagnetization treatment.  Peak fields for alternating field demagnetization are in Oersted/Gauss units.  NRM = Natural Remanent Magnetization and are data that have not been subjected to laboratory demagnetization.

(3) Magnetization.

(4) Not used.

(5) Not used.

(6) Declination.  Note cores are not oriented.

(7) Inclination.

(8) Magnetic Susceptibility (if available)

(9) Mass/Volume (if available)
