资源简介:
From July 1-11, 2002, staff, students, and volunteers with the Homol'ovi Research Program, Arizona State Museum, the University of Arizona traced and mapped wall alignments at Chevelon Ruin (AZ P:2: 11 [ASM]). Outlines to a total of 67 rooms comprising most of two of the seven room blocks at Chevelon were documented. These data will be used to develop an excavation strategy for fieldwork at Chevelon over the next three summers. Sixty-two of the documented rooms came from Room Block 200 (RB200) with the other 5 rooms from Room Block 400 (RB400). The tracing revealed that RB200 is nearly circular in layout surrounding a plaza. RB400, on the other hand, consisted of a single probable kiva with four unattached, but associated rooms. The level of vandalism encountered was severe, but numerous unvandalized areas that are promising for excavations were noted. Exposed walls, room block outlines, areas of wall fall, burned areas, and the topography of the village were also mapped. Of particular note is the apparent extensive burning encountered in disturbed fill in RB 100, 200, and 500.
