Burkholderia ambifaria RZ2MS16 is a rhizobacterium isolated from the Amazonian guarana, a native tropical plant from Brazil. The strain was tested in vitro and displayed positive results in biological nitrogen fixation test, indole acetic acid and siderophores production. Significant results on growth promoting in corn, soybeans, sugarcane and eucalyptus were observed when this bacterium was applied as bioinoculant, under greenhouse conditions. Its apparent non-specificity for the host is a very desirable feature in bioinoculants formulations aiming at a sustainable agriculture.
