The Series and Item Lists served as a guide to the location of the records in the State Electricity Commission (SEC) Archives Repository and as a guide to the contents of the series.Correspondence in a file on the subject of the archives and records management (at the SEC) indicates that the (SEC) Brooklyn Stationery Store was already being used for the storage of temporary and permanent records in 1967. The establishment of a proper facility for the storage of permanent and temporary records was advocated in June 1976. By November of that year an archival repository was established at Fishermans Bend. This correspondence may be found in VPRS 8948/P5, unit 1, file 33AV9501.
