Koreelah - Reducing the Spread and Impacts of Lantana and Privet

This project will control Lantana and Privet along a continuous 15 km stretch of the Oaky Creek tributary and Koreelah Creek, at the headwaters of the Clarence River. Twelve 12 landholders in this area will be supported through site visits and land management agreements which will give access to chemicals, equipment, weed control contractors and GPS systems to reduce the impact and spread of the weeds. At least 30 landholders will be engaged through field day/workshop training events to increase their awareness of the impacts of these weeds and the latest control techniques. The project will result in catchment wide benefits, including restoration of degraded areas, enhanced water quality and improved river ecosystem health.
