Patterns of variation in equine strongyle community structure

Equine strongyles encompass more than 64 species that are responsible for growth retardation and the death of animals. The factors underpinning variation in the structure of equine strongyle community remain unknown. We re-analysed horse-based community data collected in Europe and Australia to investigate the main patterns of strongyle community diversity. Strongyle species diversity and community data from 441 horses either collected after necropsy (46 horses in France and 150 – in Australia), or after horse deworming (48 horses in Poland and 197 – in Ukraine) were considered for analysis. These datasets are made available under this repository.
