The index cards in this series provide access to microfilm aperture cards of engineering and survey drawings or plans created by New South Wales Public Works. A number of the aperture cards can be found in series NRS 21554.The cards are categorised by the 12 Business Units that created them:1. Sewerage, stormwater, pumping station2. Water supply, dams, irrigation, standards3. Surveying, drafting, spatial4. Abattoirs 5. Bridges 6. Dredges, barges, tugs, launches, punts7. Harbours, rivers, hydrographic survey, jetty, wharves, coast lake river system 8. Swamp drainage 9. Specifications 10. Swimming pools 11. Sydney farm markets 12. MiscellaneousThe index cards are arranged within each of the above categories alphabetically by suburb. Each card includes the corresponding aperture card number, a title or description, a date field and names of surveyors where applicable.This series also contains index cards to survey, contour and sewerage plans of buildings within the Government Architect Office series of drawings and plans. This includes agricultural colleges, court houses, juvenile justice institutions, police stations, prisons, hospitals, high schools and public schools, sport and recreation buildings, technical colleges, universities, the Sydney Opera House, Parliament House (Macquarie Street, Sydney), Government House (Conservatorium Road, Sydney), Taronga Zoo, and the Royal Botanic Gardens.
