Ixodes ricinus Genome sequencing and assembly

The project aims at sequencing and assembly of the genome of a blood-feeding arthropod, the tick Ixodes ricinus. I. ricinus is a tick species widespread across the moderate-climate zone of Europe and is a vector of several human parasites, of which the most epidemiologically relevant are the Tick-borne encephalitis virus and Borrelia burgdorferi, causative agents of Tick-borne encephalitis and Lyme disease, respectively.
