资源简介:
The Museum of Ancient Cultures at Macquarie University, Sydney, holds some 700 papyri, mainly in Greek, but also in other languages and scripts, such as Demotic and Coptic (Egyptian). Most are written on papyrus, but the collection also includes some texts on ostraca (potsherd), parchment, and wood. Most of the texts date from the 3rd century BC to the 8th century AD. The Museum holds numerous fragmentary texts on papyrus. These are written in Greek, Demotic, or Coptic. In some cases previously unidentified fragments from the collection have been successfully linked to papyri in other collections around the world and there is considerable scope for further works on the Macquarie fragments.
