To investigate the mechanism of resistance to azole antifungals in the dermatophyte Trichophyton indotineae, we performed transcriptome analysis of the itraconazole-resistant strain NUBS19006T and itraconazole susceptive strain 19007. The 19006T was cultured with itraconazole. The 19007 was cultured with or without itraconazole, respectively. And then total RNAs were extracted from each sample. Transcriptome analysis was performed to examine changes in gene expression in these three RNA samples. The whole-RNA sequencing (PacBio Revio) and data analysis of 3 samples were performed by Bioengineering Lab. Co., Ltd. (Kanagawa, Japan). The number of paired reads was approximately 15,500,000, respectively. After annotation based on this data, a mapping process was performed based on Trichophyton mentagrophytes (Genome assembly ASM366446v1), which is registered in GenBank, and approximately 94% identity was confirmed with RNA sequences.
