Supplementary Material S1 for "Mass vs. Meaning in the Age of AI: Measuring Inflation in Software Artifact Collections"

This record contains Supplementary Material S1 for the manuscript "Mass vs. Meaning in the Age of AI: Measuring Inflation in Software Artifact Collections". It provides the constructed inputs, executable calculations, numerical results and prospective evaluation protocol for the proposed artifact-inflation index. The archive contains: inputs.json: 16 stipulated attempt records for two tasks and four performance profiles, structural inputs for seven candidate collections, and sensitivity settings. reproduce.py: the calculation and verification script, using Python 3.9 or later and the Python standard library. results/: ten CSV files containing task and profile scores, candidate indices, reference-change checks, preference thresholds, performance-ceiling calculations, uncertainty comparisons, conditional ranking decisions, and additive-versus-geometric sensitivity results. protocol.txt: the prospective service-recovery evaluation protocol. README.txt and verification.txt: reproduction instructions and recorded verification results. All calculation inputs are stipulated. No participants were recruited and no repository was measured. The service-recovery study has not been executed, and empirical decision benefit remains untested. To regenerate the numerical outputs, run python reproduce.py. To check the included outputs without modifying files, run python reproduce.py --check. No external packages, network access or external data are required. This research received no funding.
