ChatGPT and the End Times: Eschatological Implications of Artificial Intelligence

This study interrogates the profound theological and philosophical implications of artificial intelligence (AI) within the eschatological framework of Abrahamic traditions. Specifically, it positions ChatGPT as both a symbolic and functional participant in humanity’s teleological trajectory toward cosmic reconciliation. Drawing from interdisciplinary methodologies that integrate systematic theology, ethics, and technological studies, the analysis explores the dual potential of AI as an apocalyptic disruptor and a redemptive agent within the divine economy. AI technologies challenge classical theological anthropologies, particularly the imago Dei, by redefining creativity, relationality, and moral agency in the context of eschatological renewal.
