Lagrangian AOSCM simulations of Arctic airmass transformation during HALO-(AC)3
收藏资源简介:
This dataset contains Lagrangian AOSCM (Atmosphere-Ocean Single Column Model) simulations and additional analysis of Arctic airmass transformation observed during the HALO-(AC)³ campaign between March 12 and March 14, 2022. The dataset is organized into the following folders: Trajectories/This folder contains Lagrangian trajectories within the advection layer. Trajectories were initialized at 500, 600, 700, 800, 850, and 900 hPa over the marginal ice zone (MIZ) at 81°N, 5°E on March 12, 2022, at 12 UTC. Each trajectory was computed both forward and backward in time for 24 hours and then merged to create the files named WAI_20220313_12_*hPa. These text files provide the longitude, latitude, and pressure coordinates of the air parcels at hourly intervals from March 12, 12 UTC to March 14, 12 UTC. Trajectories were computed using ERA5 reanalysis data at 0.25° × 0.25° horizontal resolution, with 137 vertical levels and hourly temporal resolution. AOSCM/This folder contains the input and output from single-column model simulations performed along each trajectory. *hPa/ Input/ scm_in_[lvl]hPa.nc: ERA5-derived variables along the trajectory, provided as a function of time and, when needed, height. [ice-leg]_restart_[lvl]hPa_spun-up.nc: Initial sea ice conditions. Files beginning with ice1* represent MIZ leg, while ice2* files represent the fully sea-ice-covered ocean leg. Time-series of the EERA% surface energy fluxes along each trajectory are included in the files with the following structure: era5_fluxes_[lvl]hPa.nc. Similarly, time-height cross sections and surface properties/energy fluxes exctracted from an operational IFS forecast are contained in ifs-of_[lvl]hPa.nc and ifs_fluxes_[lvl]hPa.nc respectively. *hPa/ Output/ Files in this folder are organized by surface type (sea, ice1, and ice2). These include: HALO_[lvl]hPa_[leg]_progvar.nc: Prognostic model variables. HALO_[lvl]hPa_[leg]_diagvar.nc and HALO_[lvl]hPa_[leg]_diagvar2.nc: Diagnostic variables. HALO_[lvl]hPa_[leg]_ice.nc: Sea ice model output. The AOSCM folder also contains the characteristic ocean profiles under the MIZ (ice1) and sea-ice (ice2) legs, same for all trajectories: ocean_init_[ice-leg].nc Lagrangian maps/This folder contains NetCDF files representing the spatiotemporal evolution of integrated airmass properties and surface fluxes along and around the trajectories. Included quantities are water vapor content, liquid and ice cloud content, and integrated vapor transport. Surface flux variables include shortwave and longwave radiation (net, downward and clear-sky), sensible and latent heat fluxes, and skin temperature. The files also contain Pearson correlation coefficients calculated between the profiles in the vicinity of the trajectories and the profiles on the trajectories, at every timestep. The correlation coefficient has been computed for profiles of horizontal wind, temperature, specific humidity, cloud liquid and ice specific content.
