Sites of Sensitive Natural Spaces (ENS) of the Côtes d’Armor Departmental Council

The Sensitive Natural Areas of the Departments (ENS) are a tool for the protection of natural spaces by their acquisition of land or by the signing of agreements with private or public owners established in French law and governed by the urban planning code: In order to preserve the quality of sites, landscapes, natural environments and natural fields of flood expansion and to ensure the safeguarding of natural habitats in accordance with the principles laid down in Article L. 110, the department is competent to develop and implement a policy of protection, management and opening to the public of sensitive natural areas, wooded or not. In order to implement the policy provided for in Article L. 142-1, the department may, by deliberation of the departmental council, establish a departmental part of the planning tax intended to finance sensitive natural areas.
