„Konstruktive Aggression?“ – Goodmansche Gestalttherapie als „klinische Soziologie“– 50 Jahre „Goodman et al. 1951“

Anläßlich der Veröffentlichung von Perls, Hefferline Goodman 1951 vor fünfzig Jahren wird heute, 2001, ein Kernthema dieses Buches aufgegriffen, das Aggressionsproblem. Es ist für die Psychotherapie von grundsätzlicher Bedeutung, weil Aggression auf der individuellen und kollektiven Ebene eine häufige Ursache für seelische Erkrankungen und Leid ist. Kriege und Kriegsgefahr, wie wir sie immer wieder erleben, lassen das deutlich werden. Die Aggressionstheorien von Goodman, Perls sind mit Blick auf die Komplexität des Aggressionsproblems sehr einseitig, simpel und belastet von höchst problematischen Ideologien. Der Beitrag legt eine kritisch-metakritische Bestandsaufnahme vor zu dieser „Bibel der Gestalttherapie“, was das Aggressionsthema anbelangt, und stellt dann die Aggressionstheorie der Integrativen Therapie vor. Sie sucht klinische, evolutionspsychologische und sozialpsychologische Konzepte zu einem übergreifenden originellen und forschungsgestützten aggressionstheoretischen Ansatz zu verbinden, der Aggression und Assertivität differenziert und Relevanz für die Praxis hat. Jetzt 2011 wird die Arbeit wieder eingestellt und die Theorieentwicklung in der Gestalttherapie zu diesem Buch diskutiert. On the occasion of 50 years Perls, Hefferline, Goodman published 1951 the core topic of this book, aggression, taken up for discussion 2001. This theme is of paramount improtance for psychotherapy, as aggression is frequently the cause – on the individual as well as on the collective level – for psychological disease and suffering. This becomes evident by wars and threat of wars as we frequently have to witness. The aggression theories of Goodman are Perls are – concerning the complex topic of the aggression problem – rather onesided, simplicistic, sometimes overburdened by highly problematic ideologies. Taking the 50th anniversary of the central text “Perls, Hefferline, Goodman 1951”. The article provides a critical/metacritical analysis of this “bible of Gestalt Therapy” afocussing the aggression theme and then presents the aggression theory of Integrative Therapy, which is connecting concepts from clinical, evolutionary and social psychology, aiming at an original, encompassing and resarch supported approach which is differentiating assertiveness and aggression in a way relevant to practice.
