Validated high resolution (12.5m) DEM for Sri Lanka

The dataset was generated using ALOS Radiometrically Terrain Corrected (RTC) products, utilizing data collected from 2006 to 2009. Provided in GeoTiff format with a 12.5 m spatial resolution and signed 16-bit pixel depth, the dataset is projected in WGS 1984 UTM Zone 44N. Processed using the EGM96 datum, the data includes conversion from ellipsoidal to orthometric heights. Post-conversion, the data was processed to fill voids, and the Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) was calculated to validate it against the SRTM 1 arc sec DEM, LiDAR-derived DEMs, and Photogrammetric Digital Data from the Survey Department of Sri Lanka, resulting in RMSEs of 4.2 m, 6.2 m, and 5.8 m, respectively.
To facilitate easy downloading, the validated DEM was clipped into 44 tiles. Please refer to the map (1_Tiles.jpg) provided with the dataset to access the data as required.
