Large Scale Biosphere-Atmosphere Experiment in Amazonia (LBA) Temperature Data

LBA is the Large Scale Biosphere-Atmosphere Experiment in Amazonia project. The LBA-HydroNet V1.0 is the prototype version of a regional hydrometeoro- logical data bank to support water sciences and water resource assessment in South America, Central America, and the Caribbean, using joint pan-American scientific and monitoring station information resources. The Willmott-Webber (standard) database (Willmott and Webber, 1998) contains long term monthly averages, for the period 1960-90, of mean air temperature, for the terrestrial surface of South America, gridded at 0.5 degree longitude/latitude resolution. Derived from the GHCN, Legates and Willmott's (1990a) and Willmott and Webber's (1998) station climatology archive using the Wilmott et al (1985) version of Shepard's (1968) traditional interpolation algorithm with approximately 20 nearest neighbors. The data values range from -0.900000 to 31.200001 Deg. C/month. The data are resampled at 0.1 x 0.1 degrees by the RiverGIS program (&http://www.wsag.unh.edu/&).
