Cup Marked Orthostat Loanhead Of Daviot

Loanhead of Daviot Recumbent Stone Circle, Inverurie, Aberdeenshire.

This cup marked orthostat is immediately to the east of the east flanker of the recumbent. The stone circle is 20.5 m in diameter with eight standing stones, two flankers and a massive, frost-split recumbent, crouching on a broad shelf at 155 m OD, near the summit of a gentle hill.

This cup marked orthostat has a vertical line of five cupmarks on its inner face (another seven appear as slight depressions to the left of the more obvious cup marks using the matcap setting). Only 5 cup marks are mentioned on the information panel at the site. (Canmore mentions 12 cup marks in total)
