资源简介:

This article presents a comprehensive methodology for enhancing students’ speech compensation strategies in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) contexts, with a particular focus on Uzbek higher education and secondary school settings. Speech compensation refers to the use of communicative strategies—such as circumlocution, approximation, gestures, code-switching, and paraphrasing—to overcome gaps in linguistic knowledge during oral production. The proposed approach integrates web-based resources like YouTube, TED Talks, language learning platforms (Duolingo, Busuu), and interactive tools to foster strategic competence, fluency, and confidence. An experimental study involving 120 Uzbek EFL students demonstrated significant improvements in speaking performance, strategic competence, and self-efficacy after a 12-week intervention. The methodology combines direct strategy training, authentic web-mediated practice, and reflective feedback. Findings highlight the effectiveness of digital tools in promoting compensatory strategies, especially in resource-limited environments. This research contributes to EFL methodology by bridging traditional compensatory strategy training with modern web technologies.
